August 9th 2012, ANDY'S UNPOPULAR INSIGHTS. Eliot Spitzer has a "New Idea" for Ending the Mass Murders. Have the Police Buy Their Guns ONLY From Manufacturers that Restrict the Size of their Magazines to the Public, and other Sales Restrictions.
Mr. Kenneth Lovett, a reporter for the New York Daily News called me. Mr. Lovett seems like a very concerned reporter, but didn't know much about firearms sales.
Mr. Lovett said that Eliot Spitzer is proposing that America's Police ONLY purchase their guns from manufacturers who restrict the ammo capacity size of their magazines, and/or other possible sales restrictions. Mr. Lovett asked me if that idea would fly.
I gave him my long answer - "No."
I pointed out that Police sales are only a small part of must gun manufacture's sales.
I pointed out that there are only six manufactures that supply 90% of America's Police primary handgun sales. Dozens of handgun manufacturers and importers do No business with America's Police.
I pointed out that the Police want to buy their handguns based on dependability, and NOT on polities.
HOWEVER, just because an idea is totally stupid does NOT mean the Government won't do it. Perhaps in Mr. Obama's second term we'll have an Eliot Spitzer as Attorney General? Perhaps there might be a LAW that restricts firearms sales to Law Enforcement based on left-wing political ideas like magazine size restrictions, or whatever? Those Police Departments NOT going along will be CUT OFF from Federal Funding?
Mr. Spitzer is NOT living in this Century, or perhaps NOT on this Planet. However, in a Second Obama Term that makes Mr. Spitzer MORE politically correct to be Attorney General.
A good socialist NEVER lets the real world interfere with his ideas and thinking.
The problem of mass murders by White Males is without Question a very serious National problem, and it IS a growing Problem. Even before Columbine, I started writing about what causes White Males to go crazy with Timothy McVeigh, and the Oklahoma mass murder in 1995.
From Timothy McVeigh in 1995 to the current Wade Page in Wisconsin a few days ago. There ARE numerous common factors. Basically, they ALL felt alienated from what should have been their core culture.
