August 31st 2012. ANDY'S UNPOPULAR INSIGHTS. The Republican Convention did a Few Things Right, One of them was Mr. Clint Eastwood.

I didn't know that Mr. Eastwood would speak at the Republican Convention when in yesterday's essay, listed below, I wrote that to get the Latino vote in particular, "you have to be Mr. Macho Man on a White Horse."

No living American has a sharper image of being Mr. Macho Man on a horse than Clint Eastwood.

Somebody in the Republican camp had their brain turned on. Let's hope there's more.

Successful military, business, and your-life strategies are ALL basically the same. Do MORE of what works and LESS of what doesn't.

There's only a few days to the election, but hopefully we'll see Mr. Romney next to MORE Macho Men like Mr. Eastwood.

The real "Mystery Guest" was Pres Obama - in the empty chair next to Mr. Eastwood. 

In the late 1950s I used to go see Shelley Berman at Mister Kelly's in Chicago. Shelley was totally brilliant. He'd have people falling off of their chairs laughing WITHOUT ever using a dirty word. His "act" was having a phone conversation, but all you'd hear was his end of the conversation. About the same time, Bob Newhart, another Chicago boy, started doing the same thing - a one sided phone conversation with nobody at the other end of the phone.

Mr. Berman and Mr. Newhart were the "straight man" for a make believe "funny man" you never heard. Their funny man was the person in the empty chair.  I absolutely loved them both. I used to buy Shelley's records of his acts - and still have them.

At yesterday's Republican convention, Mr. Eastwood did Shelley Berman and Bob Newhart at their best. Mr. Eastwood was the "straight man" to the idiot clown in the empty chair - Pres Obama. Mr. Eastwood even got Bob Newhart's stammer correct. It was an imitation of a proven act, but at the same time a totally brilliant performance by Mr. Eastwood.

The make believe Pres Obama setting in Mr. Eastwood's empty chair said More than the real life Pres Obama has said in his last 50 TV speeches.

The hallmark of all of the world's greatest actors is when you cannot see them as acting. All of the world's greatest acting has a message. 

Mr. Eastwood has also developed a great Movie Director's talent for reaching back into history, and getting the story right, and with the right message for today. Mr. Eastwood's movies don't cram it down your throat, but if you're thinking you Get It. 

Clint, YOU have True Courage. You're NOT hiding under the goody-two-shoes Rock that most of the buttered-worm, two-faced, screw anyone and everyone Hollywood creeps are hiding under. You ARE a real Macho Man, and a classic American. Let's hope and pray that more of America's young people understand what you're saying, and Get It. That America was not founded, built and made great by fat welfare jellyfish looking for more food stamps, and government left-wing hacks like Obama buying votes with QuEer money.
