Sept 4th 2012. ANDY'S UNPOPULAR INSIGHTS. What's the Difference between Democrats and Republicans? It seems like a simple question, but Romney and Ryan are FAILING to make the Difference Clear. If Romney and Ryan do NOT make the Differences Crystal Clear they Will Lose The Election.
My long time readers know that I was a Democrat in the Chicago, Major Daley machine. Starting at age 21, I was an election judge and all around Democratic Party "Gofor."
My mother was a Democratic election judge for 40 years, and my father was a Union organizer and Democrat.
In those days, the early 1960s, it was "logical" to be a Democrat. The Democratic Party had NOT degenerated into the vote buying whorehouse it is today. AND, most importantly, America was still on the Gravy Train from being the big winner in WWII. America could afford "Free."
What are Democrats today? What do they talk about? How do they think? Most importantly for Romney, what DON'T Democrats talk about?
At this week's Democratic Convention there will be speaker, after speaker, who will talk about the benefits of: food stamps, Social Security, Medicare, the GI Bill, student loans, etc and so forth. It will be one speech after another about the "Joy" of Free, and how the Democrats want a lot more "Free" for a lot more people.
The Democrat Party's CORE MESSAGE is that the "Free" party is fun, free is good and something that should continue. I totally agree, "Free" is a lot of fun. BUT, for "payment" the American credit card is maxed out.
After the Army, I returned to America and started working for some big corporations. I had an expense account. When our industry had conventions in Las Vegas, I Never had any problems whatsoever spending somebody else's money.
I did NOT get up in the morning and say, "Oh, crap. I'm in Las Vegas and I have to spend somebody else's money. When I go to the bar, or to the restaurant and order T-Bone steak, or talk to the pretty ladies in the lobby about 'business,' it's all FREE to me. This free stuff is horrible - who would want it?"
The difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats ALWAYS talk about how much fun FREE can be. How it's fun to get free food stamps. How it's fun to get free housing, free is fun, fun, fun.
The issue is NOT if FREE is fun. Certainly it's fun. Everyone knows and agrees that free is fun.
The issue is that the world has changed and AMERICAN CAN NO LONGER AFFORD ALL OF THE FREE. What's "free" to one person is an "expense" to the Americans who are working.
The Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats, especially President Obama, "solve" the No Longer Affordable issue by NOT THINKING ABOUT IT, and NOT talking about it. Except for the Con Game glittering-generality of "The rich will pay for everything."
The con game that the "Rich" will pay for everything is a CON GAME. No Democrat anywhere has ever shown me any NUMBERS that make sense because the numbers are NOT THERE. It's a Con Game, and an EXCUSE for NOT thinking about where the money is suppose to keep coming from.
I did the Math on the "Rich" a long time ago. For example, if the Government confiscated 100% of Bill Gate's 50 Billion dollars it would work out to $1.60 per week, per American, for ONE year. Then 100% of the money would be 100% gone forever.
The US Government is Already, Every Year, Borrowing TWENTY TIMES (20 times) Bill Gate's total fortune of $50 Billion.
In the last four years the US Government has Borrowed MORE than the Cost of WWII. You're saying, "That can't be true!" Yes, it is true. Bernanke/Obama have ALREADY borrowed and SPENT (in like value dollars) more than America's cost for World War Two. Anyone can check the numbers.
When President Obama says, "The rich will pay." He's one of three things: (1) Really stupid, (2) Lying, or (3) Both.
The Biggest Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats SINCERELY and Absolutely Believe that America can live off of borrowed money queer T-Bonds, and Bernanke's Queer Money - forever.
Republicans on the other hand CAN do 4th grade math. They know that something has to Change.
Yes, it would be very nice if America could live off of Bernanke's Queer Money forever. Unfortunately, what would be "nice" and what is "true" are many times two different things. The Democrats main argument is that, "If it feels good then it is good." For Democrats, because the FED's Queer Money feels real good that means it IS good. End of argument in their pee-brains.
The Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Democrats have a GHETTO Time Set Mentality. That means that if there is no problem with paying for the "Free" right now, that means there is no problem, period - end of discussion.
Let's all be good Democrats and IGNORE the FACT that the "Democratic Party Free" (the Guns AND Butter) has been bought with $50 Trillion Dollars worth of Total American DEBT. America's total Gross National Product (GNP) is about $12 Trillion a year. So America's TOTAL Debts at over $50 Trillion are ALREADY Over 400% of America's total GNP. This is ALREADY a National financial Disaster.
The Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that most Democrats FANATICALLY refuse to See that "Free" has come to the end of its road.
The Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that Republicans understand the "First Rule of Holes." Which is, "If you find yourself in a deep hole - stop digging."
The Difference between Democrats and Republicans is that for 90% of Democrats it's still 1960. For Democrats, America is still The World. For Democrats the question of, "Will the WORLD let America live off of American Queer T-Bonds backed by FED Queer Money Forever?" That question does NOT exist inside the minds of Democrats, and you WILL NOT find that question at this week's Democratic Convention.
At this week's Democratic Convention there will be tons of self-righteous chest beating from Dems saying things like, "Those pig Republicans are NOT going to tell me that things like food stamps are bad!"
The issue is NOT if food stamps are bad, or free medical care is bad, or free housing is bad. Yes, all of those things are fun, and certainly good for those getting the "Free." The REAL issue is, how to pay for the "free" when America is already de facto bankrupt?
