Title: A Sales/Marketing Letter that Originally Ran in June of 2008
Author: Andrew Molchan
Date: Wed March 14th, 2012

I predicted it all. Everything that's happening in the general economy was predicted in the pages of American Firearms Industry Magazine over the last four years.

ÂÂÂ

I also predicted the current firearms sales boom. According to the FBI's official NICS figures the sale of firearms at the retailer level is red hot. There have been BIG increases in 2008 on same month sales over 2007. America's 56,000 FFL holders are on track to sell 12.5 million guns in 2008.

ÂÂÂ

What's going to happen in the next ten years? The general economy is already into a recession that will last into 2019. There will be phony "recoveries" along the way, just like there were phony recoveries in the 1930's, but overall business will be very difficult. By 2019, all of the delusional stone brains will be out of business. Only those with intellectual courage, and the true grit to make hard changes, - will prosper. America will NOT truly recover until AFTER the current dominate "welfare mentality," and the current dominate "invest in slum cultures," mentality has been burned away. When America stops destroying trillions of dollars in failed attempt after failed attempt to cure stupidity, ONLY then will America's true financial and social recovery start.ÂÂÂ

ÂÂÂ

Concentrate your power and effort on the MONEY. Firearms and hunting product manufacturers must shift most of their ad money from the dying newsstand magazines, to the FFL holders who will collect over $6 BILLION this year and next. Manufacturers will thus cut overall advertising expenses, while increasing their cash flow. In the years to come "fast cash flow" will be the most important part of every business.

ÂÂÂ

Consumer newsstand gun publications are dying. People under 30 years of age are driving the current firearms boom, and will drive expanding firearms sales for years to come. Nobody under age 30 buys newsstand gun publications. Most of the newsstand gun publications are UNDER 100,000 in copies sold. In a nation of 310 million people - that's NOTHING. Most newsstand magazines are like the "Hollywood sets" on Universal Picture's back lot; a highly impressive looking front - with nothing in back of it.

ÂÂÂ

Example. The August 2008 issue of GUNS Magazine (monthly sales of about 100,000) had as a featured article, a history of the battle of Iwo Jima. The article had current photos of very, very old Iwo Jima veterans who had gone back to the Island. The battle of Iwo Jima was 63 years ago! Young people are NOT buying GUNS Magazine at a $4.95 cover price so they can read ancient history. To paraphrase young people, "Why would I pay $4.95 for a magazine that has only a few stores, most of which I'm NOT interested in, when I can go online and get a million times more information, color images, exactly the information I want - and it's all FREE?"

ÂÂÂ

Population Up / Circulation Down I used to be the sales manager for GUNS Magazine in 1968. Over the last 40 years the USA population has gone up by 100 million people. However, GUNS Magazine had MORE circulation in 1968 than it does today.

ÂÂÂ

Get out now! Anyone under the age of 40 who's now in the magazine and newspaper business should find another career while there's still time. Five years ago, I suggested that those looking for a new career open their own collection agency. It's a low cost entry business and easy to expand. I predicted that collection agencies would become a long-term booming industry - which they have become. It's still not too late to open your own collection agency.

ÂÂÂ

You Cannot Compete With FREE. Newspapers and newsstand magazines are in the process of dying all over the industrialized world. High priced print media CANNOT compete with the Internet. In three years, half of the newsstand gun publications will be UNDER 25,000 issues sold. They will be phony fronts. ALL of the newsstand gun publications will have LOST significant circulation.ÂÂÂ

ÂÂÂ

ONLY FFL firearms retailers SELL guns. There are zero profits in a gun factory - there are only expenses. There are zero profits in all the wholesalers - you'll only find expenses. True profits are ONLY found at the FFL level. ONLY retailers make a true profit. Everyone else is just moving products around at great expense.

ÂÂÂ

Concentrate your sales ON the money $$$! In 2009, even with the overall economy in a recession, America's 56,000 FFL holders will still sell over THREE BILLION DOLLARS worth of guns, plus another THREE BILLION DOLLARS worth of ammunition, scopes and all the shooting/hunting accessories. That's over $6 BILLION in REAL SALES with real profits. The FFL holders will have REAL CASH, the cash you'll need.

ÂÂÂ

America's FFL's will sell a projected 12,500,000 firearms in 2008.  Firearms sales have been increasing for years. The FBI runs NICS, and checks all FFL gun sales. The FBI's official figures state that the FFL's in 2005 sold (in rounded numbers) 9,000,000 firearms. In 2006 the FFL's sold 10,000,000 firearms. In 2007 they sold 11,000,000 firearms. 2008 had been, and is, a booming year for firearms sales and we are projecting that America's FFL's will sell 12,500,000 firearms. Even though America's general economy will be in deep recession for all of 2009, firearms sales will remain strong.

ÂÂÂ

Your SOLUTION to the 2009-2010 recession. YOUR SOLUTION is to sit on top of the over $6 BILLION in cash that the FFL holders will collect during 2009-2010. Concentrate your sales on the retailers, and get $.

ÂÂÂ

ONLY American Firearms Industry Magazine covers 100% of the 56,000 FFL's. The 56,000 FFL holders will collect, in real money, over $6 BILLION. These are not phony "paper sales" like manufacturers shipping to wholesalers. At the FFL level it's REAL MONEY. In the 2009-2010 recession, you'll need REAL money, and ONLY the FFL holders have real money.

ÂÂÂ

A Perfect Stock Market Prediction. In 2006, in the pages of AFI, I predicted that a recession would start in 2007. In the January 2008 issue of AFI, on page 24, I said, "The American stock market is going to be a very frustrating place. Sell all of your stocks, and park your money in very high quality corporate bonds that do a lot of business in Asia."

ÂÂÂ

The Best Financial And Political Advisor In The World? Taking my (Andy Molchan's) verifiable written predictions that were published in AFI, a monthly magazine. For the past three years Andy Molchan has been one of the very best financial advisors in the world. Andy Molchan predicted the stock market's continuing decline. For the past year I've said over and over, "Take the increases in stock prices as a selling opportunity, NOT as a buying opportunity." That advice still stands. Five years ago I got the war in Iraq exactly correct. Five years ago I said, "Osama bin Laden's real objective is NOT Iraq, it's the American dollar and American financial system. Idiot Bush is doing everything Osama wants, and the result will be an financial collapse in America." My January 2008 overall predictions for America over the next ten years will also be correct.

ÂÂÂ

The Presidential election - who will win? In the November 2007 issue of AFI, (11 months ago,) I gave a written and published prediction as to who would win the Presidential election. This was ONE YEAR BEFORE the election. We'll see if I was correct.ÂÂÂ

ÂÂÂ

Go for the MONEY!  The December SHOT® Show Super Circulation issue of American Firearms Industry will close in a few weeks. ÂÂÂ

Editorial bonus with the December SHOT® Show Issue. The SHOT® Show issue falls in either December or January, depending on the Show. However, the "Show Issue" is always the start of the new year for AFI Magazine. I will have my special once a year grand list of predictions for: our firearms industry, America, business, war, grand strategy, Iraq and Iran, and the long term future of mankind. The majority of predictions will be correct. This is will be some of the best editorial material in the world, and a bonus to all AFI advertisers.

ÂÂÂ

All the best, Andrew Molchan,
